My Loc Declaration ~ I've dreamed of seeing this on Essence.com - Blog Post 5

 At FIRST MY LOCS Stripped Me. I was now looking in the mirror at an unknown sphere, now with LOCS connected. An unfamiliar substance.[I WROTE THIS DECLARATION IN 2018 ~ THE YEAR I STARTED MY LOCS]. 

Facing the mirror my thoughts started..


I was now[Experiencing this new existence that was staring back at Me.]



I Recognized me, But I was experiencing a shift. A change into something that FELT good. FELT right. I remember feeling EXCITED as if I was suiting up for a mission, a JOURNEY. My locs being my armor, twisted up and ready to go. MY POWER. 


                    

                                     [As My Locs grew, My Energy Expanded]


I started to make a connection with my locs. My mother, this BEAUTY with long locs flowing and swaying with each and every step, asked me “Why the sudden connection to locs?”.


I started to think, what purpose does my locs serve? Why the sudden connection?”. This question went through my mind day after day. 



[As each day flowed, my locs reflected the growth.]


My Growth. 


I was now experiencing the growth. GROWTH in my locs, and growth within me. Some locs appeared curlier, and some longer than others. Each loc presented its own stage of growth, all coming from the root of this thick curly layer of new growth making its existence. 


ME witnessing with my reflection the amount of growth in my locs, I connected with the growth. As my locs flourished and grew, so was I. My locs are my energy source. Each stage of their appearance good looking or not, I embrace them.  

[Here's My Loc DECLARATION.]

I acknowledge that I am experiencing growth with each stage of my locs. As they decide to grow and change, so will I. I know that the energy from the growth is automatic and reflects growth in ME. I will embrace each stage of my locs, As It Appears. I will acknowledge the growth, flow with growth. AND accept the Growth. 

In my opinion, LOCS are a powerful source of energy twisted to form and mature in lengths without any stipulation, while allowing the uncertainty to exist. 

A DECLARATION is a formal or explicit statement or announcement. 

                  My locs are my POWER, they exert a lot of force and energy within me. 


My Loc Journey has begun... 

GROW verb. (of a living thing) undergo natural development by increasing in size and changing physically. 


GROWTH noun. The process of increasing in physical size. The upward growth.


ACKNOWLEDGE verb. Recognize the fact or importance or quality of. 


EXCITED physics. Of or in an energy state higher than the normal or 

ground state



I encourage you to build a connection with your hair. Enjoy the beauty of the way it flows, curls, it's an extension of you. Enjoy it~

I believe in Magic. Things can happen over night, in a blink of an eye. I enjoy days like this, sitting on my patio, writing my blog in the moment, expressing how I feel.  It feels so good out, the wind is blowing so gently, and the leaves slowly hit the ground with each wave of breeze. Dreams - Blog Post 7

Dreams~ I often find myself waking up remembering my dream from the night before. It's as if I travel to a new dimension while my eyes are closed. One day in undergrad, I asked my philosophy professor, "Mr. Dawson, I keep having these dreams with my grandmother in it, she passed away, and I can always remember her face, as if she was trying to communicate with me, what does that mean?".  His response was this.   I had built a deep connection with my grandmother while her physical was here on this earth, and when she passed, I still had a connection with her soul. So in my dreams when she comes, the higher power or God is trying to get me to pay attention to something or listen up. So the spirit sends my grandmother as an illusion for me to pay attention.  That's deep. Lately I've been having dreams of me living at this house, cabin like, but there's a beach in the backyard. Taking Meaningful Showers ~ Naked Body Love ~ Blog Post 15

 6AM came fast, the sun still down and outside still dark. I took a nice peaceful, and relaxing shower. The morning is quiet and still, I start the water, turning it to the hottest level. I hop in. As I'm taking my morning shower, I turn to the left. My shadow is reflecting off of the shower wall.  Wow. For the first time I acknowledged my shadow in the shower. Not sure if I ever payed attention, but this morning my shadow caught me creeping.  Imagine me facing the shower head, turning to my left and seeing my reflection. My boobs caught my eyes first, my reflection gave me a signal, it signaled ~ 'love  I take a moment to admire my boobs, first at my reflection, then physically looking down at them, I say hello, you two are beautiful. I could see the image print my shadow was reflecting from my side boob. The curve looked so feminine, in that second I acknowledge my shadow boob. I turn to position my body in different angles.
